Luxy Has a Blog? Shocking, I Know

Things are busy in Luxyland. Well, not reeeealllllyyyy but uni, not-so-tiny puppy, and actually playing (afking) WoW are stealing away all of my blogging time...

Notable things I have done whilst I haven't been posting:
Challenge Conqueror: Gold - While I got silvers on my Shaman with Navi, Lush, Sev and Arv, I got the golds on my Priest.
I've Got the Biggest Brawls of Them All - Rank 10 Brawler's Guild - Took me long enough but I finally got my Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast with some awesome cheerleaders to keep me motivated.
Another ugly Mushan!
Glory of the Orgrimmar Raider - Yay! OpenRaid got me most of these in just one weekend.
Fire-Watcher - My apologies to Barthilas who had to suffer me for a couple of weeks while I farmed their delicious Bloody Coins. I might still be accidentally stealing coins from friends though. Dem Lava Burst procs!
Master of Deepwind Gorge - Can't even thank Putress enough for this. I couldn't have capped all those carts or sat through all of those wins alone. <3
I doubt I will miss Deepwind Gorge any time soon.
Veluxia is no longer a Draenei, and no longer named Veluxia! It was hard to faction change her, but I really wasn't playing her as alliance on a dead server. For now she lives on Mal'Ganis, a happy little Goblin again!
Back to Goblin and a new transmog!
Things I want to finish up before WoD:
Glory of the Pandaria Raider - A few to go, Show Me Your Moves! seems a little challenging, but with the right group it should be doable! I have tried it with a couple of OpenRaid groups without success. I just need to find time to get into some groups for the other meta achievements. Still a lot of points to be gained there!
Glory of the Thundering Raider - Just one to go. I think I need a couple of different platforms on Lei-Shen for A Complete Circuit, again just need the time to commit to a ToT run!
Proving Yourself: Gold Damage - Proving Grounds are something I have been pretty lazy about because I found it quite boring to be honest and it is so lonely in there! I got silver on my Shaman though, I suppose there is plenty of time to work on gold.
Going To Need a Bigger Bag - 3 to go! Generally I am studying on second screen while camping a rare on the isle so it's not as boring as it could be but this achievement really sucks! I am just left with camping Spirit of Jadefire for Glowing Green Ash, then I will be killing High Priest of Ordos for Ash-Covered Horn and mannnny crabbies to make the Monstrous Spineclaw spawn for Spineclaw Crab
I stillllll need to finish leveling all of my 5.4 pets to 25. I think I have around 20 to go but I am still quite burnt out on pet leveling and battling in general, though I have been having a lot of fun forcing other people to start pet battling, some even obsessively asking for invites to look for rares now!

It looks a lot less daunting when I look at it like that, although, some of those won't be fun or fast... Luckily I have awesome friends, the kind who are always there to help me, listen to me rage, and often always mock me! :D

Bloody, Bloody Coins...

I had pretty much ignored this element of the Timeless Isle for the longest time. I love to PvP, but I was not so keen on killing members of my own faction as well. It seems cruel and doesn't really promote a healthy sense of community. Trolling is already high in trade and general chats. I had bought my Censer of Eternal Agony (1,000 Timeless coins from Speaker Gulan) early on, just for the achievement.
Using the censer turns you pink!
I had been discussing it with a friend, Healycow, on Barthilas and he said he still had plenty to go. We were both free, so decided to group up and see who we could find to kill on his server, since it's PvP. In the first hour I had over 30 coins and he had almost as many!

Of all of our kills on the first night, I'd say less than 5% were actually alliance players, which made me feel pretty bad. Luckily, Barthilas hasn't been my main server since Cataclysm so, I don't have to worry too much about any enemies I make. Amusingly, I almost attacked a Frostwolf! Saundin was on Barthilas for a Celestials group when I targetted him and noticed his name!

Aside from raiding, Bloody Coins are the reason I am logging on lately, pestering my friends on PvP realms for invites. While often they want to join me for some PvP, you will remain on their server while you are grouped even if they need to log out, so alts are handy too! I have alts on Barthilas Horde and Frostmourne Alliance who can invite anyone who wants to farm coins on Oceanic!

Items such as [Odd Polished Stone], [Kang's Bindstone], [Aqua Jewel] can help mask the fact that you have the censer buff, especially if players aren't showing name plates. Eternal Warrior's Sigil is really good for getting your health back up fast after using the censer (Very helpful if any sneaky rogues are stalking you!) Cursed Swabby Helmet helps if you want to gank people as they are killing Evermaw! Evil... I know.

Bloody Coins can be used to purchase the following items:
Pouch of White Ash - 20 Bloody Coins
Reins of the Ashhide Mushan Beast - 500 Bloody Coins
Vengeful Porcupette  - 100 Bloody Coins
Fire-Watcher's Oath  - 50 Bloody Coins
Black Ash - 1 Bloody Coins
Not the most attractive mount, which people often mentioned when raging about being killed. 'Enjoy your ugly Mushan!'
I am currently on 613 of 2000 that I need for the Fire-Watcher achievement, which was fortunately nerfed from 10,000. Still a long way off, but getting there! If anyone isn't planning on farming the coins and needs a Vengeful Porcupette, I see many of them in my future, let me know if you want one!

AMG! Achievements Aplenty!

PATCH WEEEEEEEEEEK! So many points! The Timeless Isle is kind of awesome. I've had a lot of fun this week, I can forget the negative stuff, but patches sure can bring out the worst in people. I'm glad I have a lot friends who aren't awful at patch times to make up for the behaviour I have encountered from randoms.

This is one achievement I actually wanted to see ding on my screen, I probably should have caged a few of my cats so I could relearn them to get the achievement, instead I completely forgot about it until Navi asked me if we had it... I hate you hindsight!

I wrote about this one on the weekend! Which reminds me, it's time for another Hai-Clue!

The Rope-Bound chest was a little trouble, and some guy kept laughing at me! /cry

Honestly, I don't remember this achievement at all, so I guess it just happened!

Clicking on clicky things gets you achievements without any effort at all!

I've found three of the four artifacts, you can still see the ones you have collected which is a little annoying! I get excited every time I see the shinies!

I love easy points! The hardest part of this one was avoiding the scary elites while trying to click on a Fiery Altar of Ordos.

Wowhead has a pretty awesome map of all of the chests on the Isle. After I got the achievement, I ran around collecting all of them! So many BoA's!

This was fun! I needed help with a couple of the mobs which I couldn't solo, yay guildies!

So much fire. Everywhere. Random mobs that were pulled onto the group where deadlier than the actual boss.

Having 3 of the blessings by the weekend, I decided on Saturday to just camp at a wayshrine and click it every 10 minutes until I got it. It was about an hour and a half of frog killing before I got the last blessing I needed, Yu'lon.

I purchased the Censer of Eternal Agony and found a high point to use it and jump down to kill myself to drop the buff! Then I afk'ed for 5 minutes while my pvp flag wore off.

I wasn't sure I was going to get this done this week. I tried a few times and was frustrated when I had to restart so I gave up pretty easily. I set aside some time on Saturday to get it done. I am already looking forward to never having to do it again, but 3 pets to go...

This one was interesting, I had a little trouble with it, but finally got there!

Winged Veluxia

I was quite lazy about logging on my Priest to get the legendary cloak. I completely forgot that if I had the cloak on one toon, it meant any others could kill Ordos! So I logged on to Veluxia on Wednesday night so Luxygaga could kill Ordos for a chance at shinies! I was lucky enough to find a group just starting... at midnight... on Dath'Remar! Killing the four Celestials was fast and then I needed to collect 5000 Timeless Coins. After farming coins on my Shaman all day, I wasn't excited for more, especially not on my healer, but it wasn't so bad, with most of the coins coming from quest hand ins.

THE WINGS! They are so pretty! Seriously wishing I had been a little more serious about my Shaman a lot earlier. Oh, well! Only a couple of weeks until she gets her cloak! /fingers crossed.

Looking back over this I wonder if I should have saved some for the rest of the patch... though I still haven't tried Proving Grounds yet, so I have something to do next week!

Achievements weren't all I was hunting this week, pets were pretty high on my priority list, although I wasn't having much luck early on. By the weekend, I only had the 3 wild pets from the Timeless Isle, Lil' Bling and an Azure Crane Chick.

This post is already long enough without posting pictures of all the pets I did end up with after week 1, so here is a list!

Lil' Bling - My 32 Blingtron 4000 Gift Package hoarding alts paid off... barely! #27 gave me the pet.
Ashwing Moth - First one I battled was rare!
Flamering Moth - Still looking for a rare...
Skywisp Moth - I used my sneaky mount/glider skills to get this one! I battled 10 or so before I found a rare.
Azure Crane Chick - I farmed the nests for hours and I didn't find a pet... I purchased this one on the AH, but I will still have to farm one for the achievement, Going to need a bigger bag. (Looks fun, right?)
Bonkers - I spent a lot of coins on Kukuru's Cache Keys to get this! RNG was not on my side.
Death Adder Hatchling - Dropped from the fourth Imperial Python I killed.
Swarmling of Gu'chi - I saw this rare about 15 times before I actually got close enough to hit it before it died! First kill gave me the pet!
Jademist Dancer - I spent a bit of time farming these mobs, but no luck. I decided on Sunday to kill these mobs for my daily, Path of the Mistwalker. It dropped on the 18th kill of the day!
Ominous Flame - All the time spent waiting for Zarhym, was also spent farming this little cutie!
Skunky Alemental - Honestly, no idea how I got this pet. I know where it comes from, Zhu-Gon the Sour, but I hadn't killed the rare yet and I don't remember learning it. Weirdness!
Zao, Calfling of Niuzao - After completing the Celestial Tournament, I chose Zao! So cute!

Still lots of pets left to collect, a lot of rares to farm items from, and some more achievements, hopefully I will have something to post about next week!

Zarhym Altogether

I'd seen Zarhym a handful of times while I'd been in the Cavern of Lost Spirits. Twice I got to him as he disappeared and twice I attempted to complete the event but failed, so I camped alts there to log in and out every so often to check if Zarhym was up.
The Cavern of Lost Spirits is located at 64.42, just north of the Celestial Court.
If you haven't already spent time in the cavern or are just cave challenged in general, I suggest getting acquainted with the path before attempting this. It's a daily, and if you fail, you can't retry until the next day.
Clicking on the skull gives you the option to enter the spirit world.
Upon entering the Spirit World, you are tasked with finding Zarhym's body! You have 5 minutes to do so. You gain a debuff that has the timer on it so no need to waste any time with the stopwatch.
Chests are located throughout the cavern when in the spirit world.
I ignored most of the Spirit Chests and focused on getting to the end. I received coins and BoA epics from the chests I did loot. You remain in the spirit world after you find the body so you should have time to collect a few!
These ghosties are blocking the way to Zarhym's body!
The Timeless Spirits move quite slowly and each one has a varying amount of space to squeeze past. (Look out, Tauren!) While you have the debuff, you have slowfall, keep this in mind when jumping off any ledges that you aren't going to land inside the ghosts aura. If they attack you, they will knock you out of the spirit world. Fast reflexes and a Salyin Battle Banner can get you out of combat with them, otherwise you can't out run them and will fail the event.
Zarhym's skeleton! Click the shiny to complete!
It's a little tricky getting to the body, but take your time watching the paths of the spirits, 5 minutes is plenty of time.
10 points!

Hooray! Another one down... my weekly achievement post is looking long!
