Luxy Has a Blog? Shocking, I Know

Things are busy in Luxyland. Well, not reeeealllllyyyy but uni, not-so-tiny puppy, and actually playing (afking) WoW are stealing away all of my blogging time...

Notable things I have done whilst I haven't been posting:
Challenge Conqueror: Gold - While I got silvers on my Shaman with Navi, Lush, Sev and Arv, I got the golds on my Priest.
I've Got the Biggest Brawls of Them All - Rank 10 Brawler's Guild - Took me long enough but I finally got my Brawler's Burly Mushan Beast with some awesome cheerleaders to keep me motivated.
Another ugly Mushan!
Glory of the Orgrimmar Raider - Yay! OpenRaid got me most of these in just one weekend.
Fire-Watcher - My apologies to Barthilas who had to suffer me for a couple of weeks while I farmed their delicious Bloody Coins. I might still be accidentally stealing coins from friends though. Dem Lava Burst procs!
Master of Deepwind Gorge - Can't even thank Putress enough for this. I couldn't have capped all those carts or sat through all of those wins alone. <3
I doubt I will miss Deepwind Gorge any time soon.
Veluxia is no longer a Draenei, and no longer named Veluxia! It was hard to faction change her, but I really wasn't playing her as alliance on a dead server. For now she lives on Mal'Ganis, a happy little Goblin again!
Back to Goblin and a new transmog!
Things I want to finish up before WoD:
Glory of the Pandaria Raider - A few to go, Show Me Your Moves! seems a little challenging, but with the right group it should be doable! I have tried it with a couple of OpenRaid groups without success. I just need to find time to get into some groups for the other meta achievements. Still a lot of points to be gained there!
Glory of the Thundering Raider - Just one to go. I think I need a couple of different platforms on Lei-Shen for A Complete Circuit, again just need the time to commit to a ToT run!
Proving Yourself: Gold Damage - Proving Grounds are something I have been pretty lazy about because I found it quite boring to be honest and it is so lonely in there! I got silver on my Shaman though, I suppose there is plenty of time to work on gold.
Going To Need a Bigger Bag - 3 to go! Generally I am studying on second screen while camping a rare on the isle so it's not as boring as it could be but this achievement really sucks! I am just left with camping Spirit of Jadefire for Glowing Green Ash, then I will be killing High Priest of Ordos for Ash-Covered Horn and mannnny crabbies to make the Monstrous Spineclaw spawn for Spineclaw Crab
I stillllll need to finish leveling all of my 5.4 pets to 25. I think I have around 20 to go but I am still quite burnt out on pet leveling and battling in general, though I have been having a lot of fun forcing other people to start pet battling, some even obsessively asking for invites to look for rares now!

It looks a lot less daunting when I look at it like that, although, some of those won't be fun or fast... Luckily I have awesome friends, the kind who are always there to help me, listen to me rage, and often always mock me! :D

AMG! Achievements!

Second week of patch is never as successful as the first on the points front, but I am happy with the ones I did get.
Finishing this achievement made me quite happy. I had spent a great deal of time on it, it was good to finally put it behind me.

FINALLY! After months of trying and avoiding Scarlet Monastery, we finally had a run where everything fell in to place! One left for the mount for a few of us!
I spent Saturday running around looking for the last lost artifact I needed, I found 20 or so of the ones I already had before finally finding the Snowdrift Tiger Talons. An ally who I had seen at several of the spawn points, was trying to find a way to get to them without aggroing the mobs that were around them, knowing it wasn't a cast and you just needed to click, I ran straight in and felt a little bad getting the achievement right in front of her.
Woo... LFR!

Pets wise, let's see:
Gooey Sha-ling - I purchased this pretty cheaply from someone in trade.
Droplet of Y'Shaarj - This pet was bugged and dropping in LFR. I found one fairly cheap and grabbed it before the price jumped when they were hotfixed.
Gulp Froglet - Finally made it to Bufo in time!
Still a bunch to go, and still no sprite pet!

Not feeling much better about Elemental DPS, and being last to cleanse my corruption on Norushen isn't making me feel any better. I did get a lot of upgrades over the wekeend but haven't had much chance to see how they are in raid. Hopefully this week sees a vast improvement otherwise I might need some hugs.

This week I wrote a piece of fiction to submit to the writing competition at The Wyvern's Tale. If you haven't entered yet, check it out! The prizes are awesome and include an amazing custom watercolour of your toon! There is still a week to get your entries in. Possibly at some point I will post my entry for everyone to laugh at!

Next week; Proving grounds? I don't know why I haven't had any interest in them thus far. I was pretty excited when I read about them months ago, but haven't stepped foot in one yet!

AMG! An Achievement!

Saturday was CM night and I was not sure people would be on for it. Arv was caught up with real life stuff so Lushy tanked on Aimei and Voros joined us to DPS. Navi found Sev to complete our Orc DPS team! First attempt was going pretty smoothly when the server restart message popped up... Why didn't we think about that before we started? When we logged back in the timer was still going so we finished that run on Bronze. Second run was a bit messy but we had some pretty awesome comebacks and ended up with our silver!
I played a lot of DayZ, as I didn't have a great deal to do on WoW. I really only logged on for raid, banking and profession cooldowns. Oh, and my Blingtron pressies (32 to open tomorrow!) I spent a bit of time killing rare spawns as well.

Yay! 5.4 tomorrow! Next weeks achievement post will hopefully be packed, although my newest RL companion pet might make it a little harder to find time!

AMG Achievements

10 POINTS THIS WEEK! YAY! Feels like months since I got my last achievement. Was it? Nope! Not even a whole month. I hate these slow times. I mentioned to a friend the other day, that it is much more fun for me to help others obtain their achievements than it is to work on my own. More people need to ask me for help!

We had a bunch of frustrating runs of Stormstout Brewery CM over the last couple of weeks. The time for silver wasn't too strict but our positioning wasn't fantastic and even a short heal from an add was too much for us on Yan-Zhu the Uncasked. I suggested standing in close to the boss so we could each block more beams but there was some worry about hitting each other with Bloat. Saturday night we were in there again with Arv, Navi, Lushy, Sev and myself. We messed up first time around and possibly reset second and third but we got there with I think most of us in at the boss all avoiding bloat! It was a relief. I was tired and still a little sick. I think Navi thought I was upset because I wasn't cheering on vent. No achievement pic because the screenshot doesn't have it... 3 silvers to go before we get our mounts!

AMG! A new pet! An awesome gift from Arvash. He asked me for my email address and I decided whatever evil he had planned I could handle. LUCKY!
Look at this grouchy face!
I wanted to name him Blossoming Arvash but it is too long but not longer than Blossoming Ancient... /grumble... Stupid 16 character naming limit. So his name is Blarvash. Thanks Arv! I love it! I should probably finish the last level on him, talk about lazy. Off to do that now!

AMG! Achievements!

During ToT trash on Wednesday night, I saw shinies and ran over to loot, without a thought. DING! Wait WHAT?! OH! I looted Waterlogged Zandalari Journal, which was the last book I needed for Zandalari Library Card! I guess this means it is time to use my stacks of Key to the Palace of Lei Shen, so I can finish up Stormbreaker. My luck with the chests in there has been pretty bad though. You can see I still hadn't fixed my achievement add-on. I think it is fixed now!

Challenge modes this week went well! We decided to try something else since Scarlet Monastery hates us. Scholomance was chosen and I think I cringed a little as it is quite long. The first run was executed so well until the last boss. We spent some time talking about it and Aza made some suggestions that helped us one shot the boss on our second run through!

Since we succeeded in Challenge Modes this week, I can post this next pic! It doesn't feel right to post them when we fail. Arv's famous Navi killer move! Evil paladin!
When we haven't wiped enough. there is Arvash.

Also this week, I defeated 4 more Brawler fights! (Dahakha is an amazing cheerleader btw) Leaving me with 3 fights left, each one on a different acheivement! Disruptron, Mingus Diggs and Ahoo'ru. On Mingus, I get so close, usually enrage gets me seconds after I have the statues down and the other 2 well, I just need to be less of a derp. One day...

AMG! One Achievement!

On Saturday night we decided to try for Silver in Scarlet Halls. We had a few practice runs (or real runs were we made too many mistakes if you like). One of the runs that we finished, we realised we needed to kill more mobs. We talked about it and decided to try CC'ing single mobs so we could pull them when their packs walk away. This worked but was quite slow. We then decided to try killing the Houndmasters. I was adding it up in my head, we needed to kill 4 mobs outside of the usual packs we kill. So no using the pet food on the dogs.

"I think we need another dog guy, there is one on either side of this courtyard" (To be honest, I probably called the courtyard a thingy) Someone said we were good and I proceeded to spend the rest of the instance terrified that we hadn't killed enough mobs. My fears only intensified as we got closer to the end with slim time to spare. I didn't want to say anything and scare the others. In the hall before the last boss it was clear to all we still needed one. We rushed the boss and got him down with around 2 minutes left. With lightning speed the Challenge Mode Noobs rushed back to the packs we had snuck past, I hexed one, Arv waited until its friends had moved away before pulling it up the stairs for us to burst it down... JUST IN TIME! 46 seconds to spare!

Thanks to Navi for the pic! My SS didn't have it!
Fortunately it ended well for us, I don't think anyone had another run in them at that point.

I love my Challenge Mode team. We always have a lot of fun and no one gets upset with anyone's mistakes even though it gets late in the night and we all get fatigued. At least for me, the others could be secretly scrutinising my every move and cursing my mistakes. I've learned a lot in Challenge Modes like running back fast if I die! I swear Tauren take bigger portions of food!
You will go hungry if Navimie beats you to the feast!
Not sure which one we will work on next but I always look forward to Saturday nights (with a pre-packed personal dinner!)

AMG! Achievements and a Goal Complete!

This week I opened my achievement pane in game after getting exalted with Shado-Pan Assualt and noticed I was on 19,990 points. So close! 20k has been my goal since MoP was released.

What was going to get me to 20,000? I expected it would just be a random raid achievement that just happened without me noticing, forgetting all about challenge modes. Navi reminded me on Saturday night that it was challenge mode night, though I wasn't thinking about my points at all. I found Karn while we waited for Arv. We reset a couple of times, the first full run was on track for silver until we wiped on General Pa'valak, ran back, wiped again, ran back and got the kill. It was all practice though and the next run went much smoother and I realised I had 20k points! "AMG!! Everyone inspect my achievements!!"

Veluxia still needs 50 points to have it showing on her armory. For some reason not all of Luxygaga's brawling achievements are account wide. Until Veluxia gets those points I don't feel like I officially have 20k but for now opening my achievement pane in game is pretty exciting! I still have a lot of MoP raid achievements to get, I wonder how many points I can end MoP with?

AMG! Achievements!

Patch weeks are always very exciting for achievement hunters! For me it means I can actually get some points instead of looking longingly through what is left to do. New achievements generally mean there are some easy points to gain. The week 5.3 hit was no exception.

I missed some screenshots because Mount Parade was retroactive and my addons were being unpleasant so I turned them off while I ran some heroic scenarios.

I was super excited to do this achievement. I started it pretty much as soon as I logged on. Shortly after beginning I was already tired of it when Cymre and Coolidge asked if I wanted to do some of the new heroic scenarios. I certainly did! Heroic: Dark Heart of Pandaria and Heroic: A Brewing Storm.

I decided to check out the new battleground, Deepwind Gorge. I spent a good 5 minutes looking for a way up to somewhere high to jump off for this only to get it when I jumped over a tiny hill!

I just so happened to win that first Deepwind Gorge I entered and I also earned an achievement I didn't deserve! Having only 300 CP earned for the season, I was quite a long way from 25,000.

Completing this seemed to take forever but it was worth it for the pet even if the achievement only gave 5 points.

You can see Lushnek's giant tauren head in this pic!
Navimie and Lushnek asked me if I wanted to run a scenario with them to break up my very unsuccessful pet hunts. The night ended up being really fun.

My pug group for Dark Heart of Pandaria seemed upset that I was wanting to get this achievement. Silly things!

Most of my Deepwind Gorge games so far have been very one sided. This wasn't as hard as I was expecting!

I was solo queuing all night for Deepwind, when suddenly I was spammed with emotes from friendly people! Navi, Sev and Shab were in my BG! I was on 49/50 flag caps. I was glad they were there with me.

Challenge Mode Noobs were at it again on Saturday night! Lushy, Navi, Arv, Karn and I were all online at the same time! After a couple of weeks of us all being out of sync we all had free time to finish up our last 2 bronze. Next up... working on silvers (and Karn's last couple of bronzes).

More heroic scenarios with Cym and Cool! We also got The Few, the Proud, the Gob Squad.

Another Deepwind Gorge achievement. Yay! Still a lot of work for my 'Gorgeous' title though.

A couple of these pets were gifted me, a few lucky drops and some cheap deals on the AH!

I had been putting this off for a bit, having 5k PvP wins at lower levels I was a little afraid to start at max level. It was a bit painful but overall not so bad. Using a couple of different teams to test things out, Call Blizzard seems to be working out so far!

When I logged on this morning Navi invited me to do some scenario achievements with her and Arv. We got this one even though the game clearly didn't want us to succeed. The cannon that shoots you over to another ship dropped me right in a red circle!

I don't think I am going to have quite as much to post this time next week. I am not feeling the usual urge to push myself when I get close to an achievement goal, I will have to work a little harder.
