Bloody, Bloody Coins...

I had pretty much ignored this element of the Timeless Isle for the longest time. I love to PvP, but I was not so keen on killing members of my own faction as well. It seems cruel and doesn't really promote a healthy sense of community. Trolling is already high in trade and general chats. I had bought my Censer of Eternal Agony (1,000 Timeless coins from Speaker Gulan) early on, just for the achievement.
Using the censer turns you pink!
I had been discussing it with a friend, Healycow, on Barthilas and he said he still had plenty to go. We were both free, so decided to group up and see who we could find to kill on his server, since it's PvP. In the first hour I had over 30 coins and he had almost as many!

Of all of our kills on the first night, I'd say less than 5% were actually alliance players, which made me feel pretty bad. Luckily, Barthilas hasn't been my main server since Cataclysm so, I don't have to worry too much about any enemies I make. Amusingly, I almost attacked a Frostwolf! Saundin was on Barthilas for a Celestials group when I targetted him and noticed his name!

Aside from raiding, Bloody Coins are the reason I am logging on lately, pestering my friends on PvP realms for invites. While often they want to join me for some PvP, you will remain on their server while you are grouped even if they need to log out, so alts are handy too! I have alts on Barthilas Horde and Frostmourne Alliance who can invite anyone who wants to farm coins on Oceanic!

Items such as [Odd Polished Stone], [Kang's Bindstone], [Aqua Jewel] can help mask the fact that you have the censer buff, especially if players aren't showing name plates. Eternal Warrior's Sigil is really good for getting your health back up fast after using the censer (Very helpful if any sneaky rogues are stalking you!) Cursed Swabby Helmet helps if you want to gank people as they are killing Evermaw! Evil... I know.

Bloody Coins can be used to purchase the following items:
Pouch of White Ash - 20 Bloody Coins
Reins of the Ashhide Mushan Beast - 500 Bloody Coins
Vengeful Porcupette  - 100 Bloody Coins
Fire-Watcher's Oath  - 50 Bloody Coins
Black Ash - 1 Bloody Coins
Not the most attractive mount, which people often mentioned when raging about being killed. 'Enjoy your ugly Mushan!'
I am currently on 613 of 2000 that I need for the Fire-Watcher achievement, which was fortunately nerfed from 10,000. Still a long way off, but getting there! If anyone isn't planning on farming the coins and needs a Vengeful Porcupette, I see many of them in my future, let me know if you want one!

AMG! Meta Achievements!

First thing when I logged on Wednesday morning, I also opened up OpenRaid chat. I saw a run for ToT achievements so I sent a tell and was invited. I didn't expect much, I try not to expect much with PuG's. If I get one achievement, I am usually happy enough with the time spent. The 6 hours I spent in there turned out to be totally worth it.
On Friday morning I signed up for another OpenRaid group. this time for MSV achievements, we managed to get all but one that people were after. The hardest one sadly, hopefully next time!
After a lucky drop in Flex wing 2 on Thursday night, I decided to give Disruptron another shot. One shot it! Just Ahoo'ru left in Brawler's Guild for me!
Sunday - More raiding! A heroic Sha of Fear kill. What a scary fight! We were pleasantly surprised to also get The Mind Killer.
An awesome surprise from Navi! She was sitting out of raid when she told me to drop my mailbox mid raid! It was on cooldown still so I asked Moo to drop his Moll-E. Moon Moon!
Sparkle, sparkle!
Also this week, my Warlock made Pierre and somewhere I picked up a cheap Harmonious Porcupette!

I acquired three new mounts this week. Sky Golem, Reins of the Onyxian Drake and Riding Turtle. I might have to slow down on the spending for a little while to replenish the coffers!

I will try some more OpenRaids next week. I wonder how long I can keep up this achievement spam for?

Turtle Power

I have been spending all mah goldz! Well, not all but I have been spending quite a bit of it recently. My latest purchase was a Riding Turtle that I saw on Saurfang's BMAH. The turtle comes from the TCG Expansion: Heroes of Azeroth, and much like the Magic Rooster Egg, which I purchased not so long ago, I wasn't planning to ever buy the cards.

I had already planned to spend my Saturday playing DayZ Epoch with friends, so I put 100k on it and logged off. DayZ was fun, and I didn't give WoW a second thought while I was hunting for supplies to build my new base, until I noticed the time! Challenge Modes! As I was logging in I remembered and quickly tabbed out to check how much it had gone for. 100k! I flew to the closest mailbox (well done engineer...) and picked up my new ride. I didn't have a chance to use it though, as I loaded in, Navimie invited me to group and it was time to head to Shado-Pan Monastery. I obviously couldn't use it in the outdoor parts of the instance, Navi might yell at me for being slow! 'Luxxxxxyyyyyyy... Why are you taking so long!?'
Slow and steady...
This turtle is slowwwwwww! I used to do AV with a friend who had this mount in Vanilla. Any time someone would ask for help, he would exclaim 'On my way!', mount his turtle and barely get there in time. Frustratingly awesome. Don't worry, I won't be doing that. Not for a long while anyway, I have some farming to do and not the honor kill kind!

Reins of the Onyxian Drake

With over 250 Onyxia kills on my account, it was very disappointing when each new kill gave me the same old boring loot. Every time I saw it on the BMAH, I thought about bidding, but as I can easily solo it on several characters, I always let it go, telling myself, 'Maybe next time if you don't have it yet!'

On Thursday morning I opened up The Undermine Journal's Dath'Remar BMAH page to see Reins of the Onyxian Drake up. I hadn't run Ony on my Priest and Shaman for the week yet, so I took Veluxia out there. I disconnected twice with Ony at less than 20%. I was grumpy when the mount didn't drop for me. (Surely I deserved it after that - As a Disc Priest!) This pretty much made the decision for me, but I still had my Shaman to run so I logged over to kill Ony and Kael'Thas. Neither mount dropped. It was 'next time' alright! I logged back over to Veluxia and placed the bid. I logged off for awhile, before coming back to play Luxygaga for raid. I totally forgot about the auction.

I checked The Undermine Journal (@UndermineJrnl) again before bed, knowing that new auctions would be up, but still not remembering about my bid. There was nothing new that interested me, I scrolled down a little to see what yesterday's auctions (whatever they were) sold for and it hit me. I saw the mount, 'OMG! That's my bid!' I quickly logged over to Veluxia, who was sitting at the mailbox.
How did I forget about this?
Even though I knew I had bid 105k and the auction had ended at 105k, I still expected to open my mail and see my gold returned. The mount was waiting for me!
Finally!
It's going to be a very long time before I step foot inside Onyxia's Lair again.

Jard's Peculiar Pets and Mounts

I was excited to get to the Timeless Isle on patch day to get the schematics for the new pets and mount. The first elite I killed dropped Schematic: Chief Engineer Jard's Journal for me. Inside were the schematics for:
It costs 60 Jard's Peculiar Energy Source to create the mount and both pets! I have a few Engineers, but only one of them is level 90. So I was expecting 60 days for both. OK, that's not so bad but how do I choose which I craft first? As a pet collector... I obviously would want the pets but I also wanted a new awesome mount!

A few days after patch, I asked a friend come out to the Timeless Isle with my level 85 Warlock to kill things so I could get the recipes on her as well. It took about an hour for it to drop and although I had done some research, I was beginning to think it wouldn't drop for a level 85 after all, even with max engi. Fortunately it dropped and Sora was free to go back to more exciting things.

My Warlock created Rascal-Bot first and it's just a few more days til she can craft Pierre
As a Fringe fan, I just had to name him Walter.
Luxygaga finished her first 30 Jard's yesterday and made her Sky Golem. I considered selling the mount instead of learning it. They were only selling for 100k on Saurfang so I decided against it and spent all day flying and jumping around with it!
Moopiex thinks it's ugly, but I disagree!
The pets are tradable now, as is the mount so I may be crafting Jard's Peculiar Energy Source for the rest of my life.

The Mount of 1000 Crass Jokes

After a few too many nights on Norushen with my sad Elemental DPS, I was feeling pretty sorry for myself. I'd been watching a Magic Rooster Egg on the AH for a few days. I wanted it, but I didn't want to pay the 350k that it started out at. The mount comes from the TCG Expansion: Fields of Honor. So if I was ever going to have it, it was going to be an AH purchase.

As the days went by, it was slowly reducing in price. The day I bought it, I had seen it at three different prices throughout the day. After raid when I looked it was 245k. 'OK! I'm going to do it!' I told myself. So I bought it. I rode around on it for a minute, linked it in guild and then logged out. It didn't make me feel better, in fact, I felt worse because I had spent so much gold on it!

A week later and I LOVE IT! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! For now, this chicken has taken Spectral Tiger's place as my go to ground mount.
FYI: It doesn't fly.

Primordial Direhorns

Late Saturday night I saw a Zandalari Warbringer on an Amber mount! 'NAVI! YELLOW EYES!' She was in LFR so I continued on my rare rounds. When she was done we went back to check on the Warbringer, stopping by Kun-Lai on the way. There was one up! We killed it and moved on to Jade Forest, where I had seen Yellow Eyes. He was still up! I should have known this was a good sign. We killed him and a Warscout at the same time, it got a little intense but we killed them and Reins of the Amber Primordial Direhorn dropped! AMG! It was the last one I needed. Navi didn't need it so I won the roll. AMG! It had been a long time since we had seen a mount, actually now that I am thinking about it, we might not have seen a mount since we transferred to Saurfang. I was excited and it was a nice way to finish off a day that was pretty crappy for a few reasons.
The newest addition - 'Yellow Eyes'!
"Ugly Jade' was my first Direhorn mount.
Slate, who didn't get a nickname but is the one we all preferred.
Looking at them, Amber might be my favourite. Slate is pretty too though. Navi still needs Ugly Jade, Lushy might still need two of them and I would like to help all of the guildies who joined us get at least one so my Warbringer days are not over which is fine, I actually enjoy killing them!

The three mounts are:

Reins of the Jade Primordial Direhorn
Reins of the Slate Primordial Direhorn
Reins of the Amber Primordial Direhorn

The Warbringer's drop the corresponding mount to the one they are riding, so if it spawns on a Slate, Slate has a chance to drop. In some zones I had to actually look at the eyes to tell Slate and Amber apart.

Each of the 3 Warbringers has a chance to spawn at any of the 5 locations marked on the map below.

The TomTom waypoints are:
/way Dread Wastes 47 61
/way Krasarang Wilds 38 67
/way Kun-Lai Summit 75 67
/way The Jade Forest 52 19
/way Townlong Steppes 36 85

Generally we found that when one died another spawned so there was always one up, however occasionally there were none to be found or multiples up at once.

Good luck to anyone farming them!

Wishful Wednesday#5

Another guest post! I swear I am not being lazy, other people just have better ideas!

This weeks guest Wishful Wednesday is from Navimie at The Daily Frostwolf and it isn't a pet... it's a mount! And what a mount!

It's a 2 seater. Could it hold 2 Tauren? 2 male Draenei? How many Gnomes could you really squish in there? Surely more than 2. These are questions I don't want to be around to find out the answers for!
This would be an amazing mount. I probably wouldn't be using any of my current mounts for a long time if this was in game.

Thank you, Navi! What an excellent idea! I want a pet Hot Air Balloon too!

Fiery Warhorse's Reins! FINALLY!

Could I have been lazier cutting this?
I kill Attumen on so many toons. I have been killing him every week for years... actual years! I have never seen his mount drop. Not even in a group where I lost the roll. Aside from it being 'a number' I didn't actually even want it but I kept going back. Toon after toon, week after week... year after year with no luck. UNTIL THIS MORNING! I logged on and wasn't sure what to do when I realised Veluxia hadn't done any mount runs this week. So off I went to Karazhan expecting nothing. I didn't even clean out my bags to make room for the loot. I didn't want any of that junk anyway! How shocked I was
when I saw the fiery horseshoe icon in the loot window! Fiery Warhorse's Reins was finally mine!
'Oh, IDC, it's ugly anyway!'For all of my jealous proclamations to it's ugliness, it really is kind of nice.

NO MORE KARAZHAN!
You know what feels better than having the mount though? I never have to go back to Karazhan again.

Slate Primordial Direhorn

On Thursday night Navi asked if we wanted to kill a Warbringer so McTacky and I switched over from our new Pandarens. We killed one and went in search of some more. The fourth one dropped a Slate Primordial Direhorn. I rolled need and won, though everyone passed for me. (Love my friends!)

Slate - My favourite Primordial Direhorn!

McTacky needs an 'Ugly Jade'!
Navi is our lucky charm for these mounts. I think she has seen 6 or 7 so far! Veluxia's mount count is now on 212!

A Mount Parade

When I logged in for the first time after 5.3 hit, I had a new achievement Mount Parade! The reward for this achievement is a Dragonhawk mount. Armored Blue Dragonhawk for alliance and Armored Red Dragonhawk for Horde.

Alliance Blue Version
Horde Red Version

At first I wasn't really excited about another Dragonhawk, they are quite nice though! I'm not ungrateful but I wish the reward had been Enchanted Fey Dragon!!

I've Got 9999 Problems but a Bone-White Primal Raptor Ain't One

When Rav asked me what my WoW plans were for the weekend, I told him I wanted to finish farming for the Reins of the Bone-White Primal Raptor.

Rav: 'Well you love grinds, it should be fun for you.'
Luxy: 'Do I?!'
Rav: 'What else are you going to complain about?'
Luxy: 'Hmph!'

He is half right.

When 5.2 hit I farmed up the bones for my Spectral Porcupette then another 2 to give away as gifts. That wasn't so bad. I had no trouble making myself go out there every 3 days to farm up another Primal Egg but after the 7 eggs it took to get the Reins of the Black, Green and Red Primal Raptors, I couldn't bear going back to the Isle of Giants.

I would occasionally go back and farm a hundred or so at a time before getting distracted or bored. At some point last week I decided I should just get it done. The bones were taking up precious space in my inventory. I made a couple of serious trips out there to farm and my Mountain of Giant Dinosaur Bones was piling up. I put Arrested Development on the second screen since I wanted to re-watch it all before Season 4 starts (can't wait!!)

On Friday morning I had close to 7000 Giant Dinosaur Bones sitting in my bags. I told myself I could do it. I have farmed worse things. At least the bones are 100%. Skyshards were much, much worse.

3000 didn't take long! Some awesome friends and guildies helped out at various times during the whole 9999 farm. The company and help was much appreciated.

Look at all this space I get back!

Yay, a Feat of Strength! No points but any shiny is a good shiny these days!

That is kind of a lot of problems for one person to have.
The Bone-White Raptor mount takes my count to 210! Now my only trips to the Isle of Giants will be for that evil Oondasta (or to help others who are farming).

This is where I should say something positive about the way it looks, right? Umm, it has very pretty eyes.

What now?! Bring on 5.3!
