Jard's Peculiar Pets and Mounts

I was excited to get to the Timeless Isle on patch day to get the schematics for the new pets and mount. The first elite I killed dropped Schematic: Chief Engineer Jard's Journal for me. Inside were the schematics for:

•   Jard's Peculiar Energy Source: 10x Ghost Iron Bar
•   Sky Golem: 30x Jard's Peculiar Energy Source + 30x Living Steel
•   Advanced Refrigeration Unit (36 slots cooking bag) : 5x Jard's Peculiar Energy Source + 5x Living Steel
•   Pierre: 15x Jard's Peculiar Energy Source + 15x Living Steel
•   Rascal-Bot: 15x Jard's Peculiar Energy Source + 15x Living Steel 

It costs 60 Jard's Peculiar Energy Source to create the mount and both pets! I have a few Engineers, but only one of them is level 90. So I was expecting 60 days for both. OK, that's not so bad but how do I choose which I craft first? As a pet collector... I obviously would want the pets but I also wanted a new awesome mount!

A few days after patch, I asked a friend come out to the Timeless Isle with my level 85 Warlock to kill things so I could get the recipes on her as well. It took about an hour for it to drop and although I had done some research, I was beginning to think it wouldn't drop for a level 85 after all, even with max engi. Fortunately it dropped and Sora was free to go back to more exciting things. 

My Warlock created Rascal-Bot first and it's just a few more days til she can craft Pierre. 

As a Fringe fan, I just had to name him Walter.

Luxygaga finished her first 30 Jard's yesterday and made her Sky Golem. I considered selling the mount instead of learning it. They were only selling for 100k on Saurfang so I decided against it and spent all day flying and jumping around with it!

Moopiex thinks it's ugly, but I disagree!

The pets are tradable now, as is the mount so I may be crafting Jard's Peculiar Energy Source for the rest of my life.

Luxyalts

When I transferred to Saurfang I decided to only take my Shaman, which means I need to level some alts so I can farm mats and pick up a couple of the professions I left behind on Dath'Remar. It's going VERY slowly. I have a couple on the go but alts for me are generally a way to make gold and if they aren't making gold, I don't enjoy the leveling process.

I am leveling her with McTacky and Faithy. Currently at level 40, we need to find some more time to level up! I have been running us through dungeons on my second account. So far she has cost me a few thousand gold leveling her Enchanting and the lazy persons 1-300 Mining (smelting mats purchased from the AH). I need an enchanter, so I don't mind the gold spent but I probably shouldn't have invested so much in a toon that isn't going to be leveling with any great speed.

I started her with the intention of just leveling from PvP Pet Battles but I have been VERY lazy and haven't done many. I really should get back into it. I ran her through a few instances a few nights ago but it wasn't exactly fun. She has an Elixir of Endless Knowledge sitting in her bags waiting for something...

Luxykin - Troll Druid

Still in the starting area.

Not really sure what my plan is for Luxykin. I just really wanted a Troll Druid! Obviously she will be a boomy!

However, with Virtual Realms around the corner, do I need to level my alts on Saurfang? I have alts on Dath'Remar who have the professions I need. I'm guessing that Dath'Remar and Saurfang will be on the same VR. If they are then the Luxyalts of Dath'Remar can join Frostwolves of Saurfang. Having a banker on both servers in the same bank guild will be great getting mats and crafted items from one server to another.

And it just occurred to me, if Aman'Thul happens to be on our VR, Veluxi might finally be leveled (for tanking not farming!) and I will have access to a Blacksmith!

5.4 Shaman Glyphs

Patch 5.4 is introducing a whole bunch of new glyphs to the game, major and minor. As my Shaman is a Scribe, she is pretty excited about learning and creating new glyphs for everyone but also at some of the new Shaman glyphs!

New Major Glyphs

• Glyph of Eternal Earth: Lightning Bolt now has a chance to add a charge to the Shaman's active Earth Shield. This cannot cause Earth Shield to exceed 9 charges.
• Glyph of Purging: Successfully Purging a target now grants a stack of Maelstrom Weapon.

New Minor Glpyhs

• Glyph of Astral Fixation: Astral Recall now takes the Shaman to their capital's Earthshrine.
• Glyph of Compy: Hex now transforms enemies into a Compy.
• Glyph of Elemental Familiars: Summons a random Fire, Water, or Nature familiar. Familiars of different types have a tendency to fight each other.
• Glyph of Flaming Serpent: The Shaman's Searing Totem now resembles Vol'jin's Serpent Ward.
• Glyph of Lingering Ancestors: Resurrecting someone with Ancestral Spirit causes a ghostly ancestor to follow them around for a short time.
• Glyph of Rain of Frogs: Allows the Shaman to summon a rain storm of frogs at a targeted location.
• Glyph of Spirit Raptors: Spirit Wolves are replaced with Spirit Raptors.
• Glyph of Spirit Wolf: Ghost Wolf can be now be used while the Shaman is a ghost.

 Major Glyphs Changes

• Glyph of Chaining now increases the cooldown on Chain Heal by 2 seconds, down from a 4 second increase.
• Glyph of Cleansing Waters now heals the target for 5% of the Shaman's maximum health (up from 4%).
• Glyph of Fire Elemental Totem now reduces the cooldown and duration for Fire Elemental Totem by 50%, up from 40%.
• Glyph of Frost Shock now reduces the cooldown of Frost Shock by 2 seconds.
• Glyph of Grounding Totem now increases the cooldown of Grounding Totem after reflecting a harmful spell by 20 seconds (down from a 35-second cooldown increase).
• Glyph of Riptide reduces the initial direct healing of Riptide by 75%, down from a 90% reduction to healing.

What am I most excited about?

• Glyph of Compy: Hex now transforms enemies into a Compy.

A COMPY?! Of course I want my Hex target to be a tiny dinosaur, my froggies are so small Navi never sees them and tells me to CC my target!

• Glyph of Astral Fixation: Astral Recall now takes the Shaman to their capital's Earthshrine.

YES! It was just a few nights ago that there was mention of my poor Shaman getting a raw deal with the guild perk to reduce the hearth time. Now my Astral Recall will take me somewhere other than my hearth destination! Who need mages?

• Glyph of Elemental Familiars: Summons a random Fire, Water, or Nature familiar. Familiars of different types have a tendency to fight each other.

Can't wait to try this out! Fighting familiars!? Hopefully they fight with the mage familiars!

• Glyph of Rain of Frogs: Allows the Shaman to summon a rain storm of frogs at a targeted location.

This sounds fun and useless but I can't have them all active at one time, so I will try this out for awhile but I can see the others taking over from my current minors; Glyph of Astral Recall, Glyph of the Spectral Wolf and Glyph of Totemic Encirclement.

None of the Major Glyph changes are too exciting for Elemental. I do like the reduced cooldown on Fire Elemental Totem though.

You know what would be super awesome? With the addition of Raptors to Hex and Glyph of Spirit Raptors. Ghost Raptor in place of Ghost Wolf!
